On July 30, 2013, the Tennessee Court of Appeals upheld the dismissal of our physician client based on plaintiff’s failure to file a certificate of good faith with her amended complaint. We successfully argued that Tennessee law requires a plaintiff in a healthcare liability action to file a new certificate of good faith when amending the complaint to add another defendant to the lawsuit.
